BaCk aT tHe cLiFF!!!

It's 9th March again..and Daddy and Mummy are back at The Cliff! Hehehe..last year on this day..Daddy ask Mummy to be together forever and forever and Mummy say OK! Yay! So today hor..they went back to The Cliff for their Proposal Anniversary Celebration..and they brought me along cos' last time me never go! Yay!

This is the beautiful view from our seats at the veranda..can see the South China Sea..the setting sun..the lush greenery..very romantic hor! then can feel the gentle breeze..and with the warm lighting..me like a lot leh!

Ok loh! enough about The Cliff..and over to the main focus now - the yummies! hehehe..u know wat is the food which Mummy remembers most from this place? the butter! hehehe..actualli Mummy wanted to have their French Seaweed Butter one..which is realli nice cos' it has a flavourful seaweed taste which is super good with the bread..but today no have! onli got this French Salted Butter..which has a light salty taste..not bad also lar! but Mummy say the seaweed one still better..

And Mummy loves the bread too! which is quite rare cos' Mummy usualli no like carbocarbo stuff..the bread was still the same as one year ago..got ciabatta, multi-grain and mini-baguette..the bread was light and although a bit cold, still slightly crispy..Daddy says his favourite is the ciabatta! i no know which one Mummy likes..but all also yummy leh! with the butter..perfectly yummy! =)

Today's amuse brouche was ok onli lar..a small piece of omelette with sliced potato and roe..but it didn't exactly help to whip up my appetite for the meal ahead! and it wasn't exactly very tasty also lar..but it definitely wasn't bad or anything! perhaps just tat me was expecting a little bit more from The Cliff lor..me still prefer the bread! hehehe..

First of the two appetisers which we ordered today..Tasting of Oysters, which gives us a selection of 4 types of oysters from a menu of 7 different types! Daddy and Mummy ordered one each of the Baked with forest mushroom fricassee and foie gras hollandaise and Grilled bacon wrapped with baby spinach and crab..and me tink tat they definitely made the right choice cos' both were realli good! me especially love the hollandaise with the little bits of mushroom and the baked fricassee on top..very yummy and tasty! the bacon one was good also although it lose a bit in terms of the richness of the taste..but the saltiness of the bacon was a good compliment for the rawness of the oyster!

Then this is our other appetiser.."Surf & Turf": Braised wagyu beef cheek crepe, roasted baby marron, horseradish foam..YUMMY! actualli Mummy wanted to order some mushroom consomee thingie one..but kenna overruled by Daddy cos' he wanted to try the wagyu beef..and it was definitely the rightest choice! veryveryvery nice leh! the wagyu beef was cut up into small pieces and wrapped in the realli soft crepe..and the beef was so tender tat it was like biting into butter! realli! then very nice with the sauce too! and got a piece of baby marron to go along as well..tasted very fresh! me love the food here leh! so far at least! hehehe..

Then me saw a cloud which looked like a tortoise (and then later became a dinosaur)..hehehe..

And by the time we were done with our appetisers..it was dark liao..so got a nice little lamp for our table! okokie..back to the food! =p

Daddy's main course was a Pumpkin seed crusted blue nose sea bass (butternut squash, roasted garlic and celery root "ravioli", hazelnut butter)..which translated into plain English is a piece of sea bass with pumpkin seeds on top, served with an assortment of veggies! hehehe..this wasn't very nice leh..although the fish was realli fresh and the sides tat came with it were qute tasty..me thought tat the fish was a bit dry..so me didn't enjoy it as much as the two appetisers!

Mummy's main course, though..was a different story..they actualli got try this Oven baked black cod (veloute of leeks, ratte potato and bacon ragout, potato lattice) last year..and they remember tat it was realli nice..so Mummy ordered again this year lor..and it was realli superb! the cod simply melted the moment it touches your palate..and then as you bite into it..there is a slight crackle cos' the cod is slightly seared on top..veryveryveryvery delicious leh! this dish realli didn't need any sauce or anything to make it taste better..it was good at its simplest! me realli love this leh!

And then finalli..on to desserts! somehow hor..Mummy and Daddy ended up ordering exactly the same desserts as they did last year..hehehe..Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake (Banana brulee, cointreau ice cream and banana sabayon)..Daddy didn't have a good impression of this dessert from last year..but this year's one was better..the chocolate inside the cake was realli molten and oozed out the moment Mummy cut into it..and the ice cream was nice too! maybe it would have been better if the chocolate was just a SLIGHTLY bit less intense and bitter..then would have been perfect liao!

Then Daddy had the pseudo-dessert platter of Black currant souffle (black currant and chocolate macaroon, cocoa sorbet and cassis anglaise)..which Daddy say was THE dessert which the guy served last year while Daddy was proposing to Mummy and then interrupt the proposal a bit..hehehe..but ANYWAY..me liked this quite a lot! except for the chocolate macaroon bah..cos' it's quite chewy and not the lightlight type..but the blackcurrants, sorbet and cream was perfect with the..

..realli soft, light, fluffy and delicious blackcurrant souffle! and the souffle was slightly moist in the centre..so me realli loved the texture of it! the blackcurrant taste was just right also..not too intense but strong enough to infuse your palate! YUMMMMMMY! =)

Yay! me so happy tat Mummy and Daddy brought me here today cos' the food here is realli nice! and the place is realli very romantic too..juz being there makes u feel like u wanna fall in love all over again! hehehe..good food, nice place, friendly and efficient staff, and happy memories - what more can u want from a dining experience? me wanna come back here again next year to celebrate Mummy and Daddy's 2nd Proposal Anniversary! Yeah! =)
